MINI has revealed that they are planning a MINI GP II – the most powerful MINI ever – to be launched at Mini United 2012 in La Castellet in May. When the first BMW MINI was close to its sell by date, MINI churned out the most powerful MINI ever in the guise of the MINI GP. And now, with the second generation MINI nearing the end of its life, they’re about to pull the same trick with the MINI GP II.
KTM X-Bow 'Drive Orange' track days at Brands Hatch and Silverstone
KTM is an Austrian Motor Cycle manufacturer which has woken up to the possibilities of making a four-wheeled creation, and has been busy building and refining the X-Bow in collaboration with Dallara and Audi. Featuring a 237bhp, 2.0 litre Audi TFSi unit – and coming in at a bit under £50,000 for the street version – its low weight (790kg) gives it supercar acceleration of around 3.7 second 0-60mph. There is even talk of a 380bhp version, which will put it up there with the Ariel Atom V8 we reported on recently.
McLaren has released a glossy launch video to accompany the release of the new 12C Spider supercar. It looks as if the boys and girls from Woking are determined to destroy the reputation for anodyne, 'boring' supercars at McLaren, given that the 12C Spider spends most of its time going very sideways in this clip. Then again, given the 12C Spider's hardware, it's not hard to see why it's such a lairy beast when off the leash.
